5. Apply for Grants, Rebates, Incentives
Based on what you learned in step 4, begin the application process.
6. Get zoning approval:
Contact your local zoning office to learn about regulations.
Fill out all necessary paperwork, and apply for a zoning variance if necessary.
7. Complete a utility interconnection agreement:
Contact your utility company for a copy of their interconnection document. (This can usually be done by email, fax or download.)
Fill out the interconnection agreement in its entirety and return to your utility company.
8. Obtain building & electrical permits:
In some cases building and electrical permits are required; work closely with your local permitting agency to accomplish this quickly. In other cases, it is not required, but do not assume that this is the case.
9. Order turbine and tower:

10. Install the turbine:
Hummer Wind Turbine will help you arrange for installation through our network of Installation & Service Partners.
11. Commission the turbine:
Once the turbine is properly installed and connected to the meter, the turbine is commissioned and your power future is operational.
12. Perform periodic inspections & maintenance:
You or the local Installation & Service Partner will perform regularly scheduled maintenance and inspections according to the service maintenance agreement.
